I mailed six books the same day.  Five were received within the week.  One book has gone "missing."  I PMed the requestor to see if she forgot to mark it.  No answer.  I PMed again (politely and after a few days) to see if she would answer a PM and let me know if her account is active.

How does the system determine if a book has been sent to an account that isn't active?  If that happened, I would get my credit back.  Otherwise, I am poop out of luck.

I know this happened to me and when I went to look at their profile there were no books on the shelf and there was a message that said they were no longer a member.

how long ago did you mail it?  it is very possible that person is having computer problems, is out of town or could be inactive or no longer a member.  You'll have to wait until it goes "lost" and then contact R&R to have them check to see if the account is inactive.  I believe if it is they mark it received for you

If no one has logged into the account in 26 days, your book will be marked received by the system and you will receive your credit.

Yes, once it goes lost, send a PM.  And if you don't get a reply to your PM within a week, you are invited to click on the blue "contact us"  link at the bottom of the page and let R&R know (through the "feedback" option.)  When communication has dried up, they'll look into it.

Barbara,

I am in exactly the same boat.  Right now, my requestor looks like she is still around but nothing has changed on her profile-no books out, no books in.  I'm hoping she's inactive so I can get my credit back.  I know the book was delivered because I sent it FedEx (due to good rates at my office).

While I'm sorry this is happening, I'm relieved to see it's not just me it's happening to.

I use PayPal Delivery Confirmation and have begun to check status about a week before a book is due to be marked lost. Invariably the tracking system says it has been delivered. I PM the requestor, no response, wait awhile and then PM PBS, who tells me that the account is inactive. This has happened at least 3 times now.

Over the weekend I found a book was delivered on 3 Nov. I PM the requestor who says she thought she marked it received. I told her no and would she please mark it off her account. In the meantime the system flagged it as lost in the mail. She still has not marked it received, 3 weeks after she got it. I will wait another day and then contact PBS. I hate to bother them but really.....!
