This is the third in the trilogy but is more of a prequel to The Girls from See Saw Lane, as it tells the story of Dottie's parents, Maureen and Nelson.

This book begins just after WWI. Maureen and her sister Brenda live on See Saw Lane with their parents. It's about their growing up in Brighton, England through WWII.

Taylor has a knack for making you see what she is describing and putting you in the middle of it all.

If you enjoy this time period, you will enjoy this book. It's not just a "romance", it's about life and how people cope in the face of tragedy.
