Grace is a sibling in the Christiansen family that kind of took a back burner in both the previous books - conveniently this is her personality, she takes a back burner to her other siblings who are definitely people who put themselves out front. Another sibling is also featured in this book - the middle son Owen, he isn't the main character but I think because his story weaves so perfectly with Grace's that it was great to put the two together.

I absolutely adored Grace's story. I loved that the homebody sibling's story took her very far away from Minnesota to Hawaii and for some reason I think her love story was the least cheesiest! The ups and downs were not overtly dramatic and this book read so quickly! As I may have stated in previous reviews, these books are Christian fiction and there is definitely some Jesus talk, but the fictional story is still the main focus which I appreciate.

Better than book 2, but still not great

Bullet point review:
--The story was utterly predictable, but an easy read.
-- I liked it better than "It Had to be You" because while there was a really big mistake that made, compared to the previous book the characters did not put themselves in compromising situations as often.
-- There's an important message about Huntington's Disease in the novel, and while that struggle was appreciable, I hoped that it could be used more powerfully.
--Honestly, Max's thoughts and reactions regarding Grace just really seemed unrealistic to me. Sure guys may have that kind of reaction/those kinds of thoughts occasionally, but it really just seemed like a bunch of stuff written into the novel so girls could sigh and dream about the unrealistic guy they're never going to meet.

All in all, not a horrible book, but it wasn't terrific either.

Grace Christiansen helps cater her brother's wedding, and as a thank you gift, is sent to cooking school in Hawaii. She meets hockey play Max Sharpe and the two become friends and partners at cooking school. But Max has secrets that Grace doesn't know.

I thought this book was very good. The main story is about Grace and Max, with a secondary story about Grace's brother Casper and friend Raina. The Hawaiian setting was beautiful and the overall story was enjoyable.

Wonderful story in the series of the Christiansen family by Susan May Warren. Grace, one of the sisters, is almost crippled by fear, so maybe a trip to Hawaii will help. The book is filled with imperfect, but mostly likable characters. I highly recommend this book.
