A classic of the self-help movement. This book has helped millions of people become assertive in the nicest sense of the word. It demonstrates that we can stop our passive or agressive ways of dealing with others -- they don't get us what we want. Guilt is the most mis-used emotion that causes pain where it is not necessary to feel pain. Learn how to say and be what you want without the guilt. It is a gift to yourself and others.

I was able to get our bank to reverse over $200 of what we considered inappropriate fees, using the technique I learned in this book. It was certainly a worthwhile read!!!

This book was one of my tools when I was searching for ways to be true to myself and not let myself by manipulated just because I was a gentle, thoughtful person. It helped me build up my sense of integrity and helped me to be more assertive with agressive and manipulative people. This book is a good tool to help one come into and keep their own power without giving it away to all the energy thieves out there who live off others.
