This is a well-plotted romanced with a little bit of goodie for many readers - a wounded heroine, a travelin' man with a healing hand, a neglected teenager, and other well-defined characters. A lowell at her best.

This was a wonderful story of love overcoming the barriers people set up to live happily in what they believe to be a safe and secure life. But sometimes, life and love is a risk, a leap of faith and maybe happiness and the feeling of home is in the arms of your lover's embrace.

Shelley Wilde is a interior decorator who has spent years decorating other people's homes. After the pain and betrayal of a divorce, she finally finds a home all her home where she can live happily, secure and alone.
Cain Remington shatters her solitude with his electric sensuality and being the wild carefree man she fears, yet secretly desires.

After a nasty divorce, decorator Shelly Wilde has built a protective wall around herself. Her father was a herpetologist who dragged his wife and daughter from one remote location to another, making Shelly a homebody who distrusts "traveling men."

Geologist Cain Remington almost defines "traveling man," but plans to stay put in Los Angeles this summer to keep an eye on his nephew Billy. Billy's self-absorbed mother JoLynn is watching her son while her ex-husband is away. JoLynn has hired Shelly and her partner Brian to revamp her rented home. Shelly comes to Billy's rescue when a terrified JoLynn wants to destroy his beloved boa constrictor, Squeeze.

With her background, Shelly is unafraid of snakes and offers to keep Squeeze for the summer. Cain is fascinated by this unique woman who blows apart most of his preconceptions. She, too, is wildly attracted to Cain, but her fear of impermanence makes her hesitate.
