He awoke in the middle of the night to the shrill, insistent clatter of the telephone. Groggily he reached for the receiver, to learn that the child he had loved above all else--not fourteen and living with his ex-wife--had seemingly murdered the man who had taken his place.
1962. 310 pages.
First printing, 1982.
On cover it reads, "First mass-market edition of the SF trade bestseller"
Here's another cool thing: it actually has pictures strewn throughout the book! Full-page art all over the place! I am pretty shocked, I haven't seen that in a normal serious novel before. Annotated books, yes, sometime a couple picture, yes, but this has it all over the place. For 1982, this is a really great looking sci fi book.
Oh yeah, haven't read it so I can't tell you if it's any good. I give it an A for presentation, though. It's late, I will stop rambling.
