I was at my wits end with the constant whining of my 7 and 5 year olds. My sister and I were whiners when we were children, and I thought (as did my parents) that it was just a phase. I am so glad I decided to order this book. Not only is the book one of the best parenting manuals I've seen (great breakdown of the issue and realistic measures to combat whining), but it also helped me identify that my own whining as a child and my parents inability to effectively address it then has colored my adult life. I really feel that now I may actually be able to help my children avoid some of the problems I had growing up...and not just by "doing the opposite of what my parents did". I liked this book so much that I just ordered "Backtalk" by the same author.

The best book on how to handle whining children, bar none. Gives examples and solutions. It shows why children whine, how we can nip it in the bud and teach our kids to not be whining grown ups.
The best part was that it wasn't just "theory" - it gave specific examples of every age level from toddler to college student.
It changed the way I handle my kids and life is MUCH quieter now!
