Why Paint Cats: The Ethics of Feline Aesthetics
Why Paint Cats The Ethics of Feline Aesthetics Author:Burton Silver, Heather Busch In 2002, WHY PAINT CATS ruffled fur with its scholarly study of a controversial art movement that treats cats as canvas. This seminal book in feline aesthetics is now offered in a new pocket-size edition, making it a purrfect gift for cat lovers and art lovers alike.
From a purely aesthetic point of view, the photos in this book are great! From a concerned animal lover, I have to wonder if this is good for the cats. I convinced myself that these cats love baths and that the artist bathes the kitties right after the photographer finishes his work. I would hate to think that the cats are grooming all of that paint off of themselves, even though there isn't anything toxic about it. If you love art and you love cats, this is the book you NEED on your coffee table. It is one of my favorites of all time.
