Deke Sullivan has lived in Dry Creek TX his entire life and has been friends with the Logan sisters, Allie, Lizzy and Fiona most of that time. The sisters are now married to 2 brothers and their cousin. The 7 are all friends and have ranches across the road from each other. Fiona's husband Jud and his sister Josie plan to drill for oil. When Josie arrives in Dry Creek she announces her intention to buy a small ranch and raise rodeo stock.
Deke plans to go to Montana to look at some bucking bulls while Josie is headed for a different part of MT to look at bucking broncos. Shortly afer arriving in MT a blizzard hits the area. Josie finds the auction she was going to attend has been cancelled due to the weather. On impluse she decides to go to an auction for bulls thinking she has time to check out the bulls and get back to catch her flight home. When she finally arrives at the ranch with the bulls for sale she knows she can't drive any further with the small rental car in all the snow. The ranch ower invites her in and to her surprise Deke is there.
The two are snowed in for a week together and since this is a romance the sparks fly and although they fight the attraction they keep finding more and things they have in common. Once the roads are finally cleared Josie decides to drive back to TX with Deke. During this time they admit they love each other. Once back in TX, the author seems to rush the end of the story to a wedding.
I like this author but she often will rush the ending of a story.
