I picked this book up quite by chance at a library book sale and have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Although it is pretty light stuff the plot and characters have a lot of charm and fun to them. I really enjoyed the world that Wisdom creates and before I knew it I was sucked into the story and furiously reading to try and figure out what exactly was wrong with the town. There are some pretty obvious plot manuevers but all in all it is a great light read. Hopefully the first two books in this series are as delightful as this one.

The third in a rather silly series about a group of witches (the first two being 50 Ways to Hex Your Lover and Hex Appeal)this book focuses particularly on Stasi, a kind and gentle witch. She runs a boutique designed to enhance women's self-confidence and love life, and she's being sued by a former costumer who believes Stasi interfered with her marriage. Trevor is a wizard and a lawyer, who has been hired to win the case against Stasi, which would result in the loss of her shop and her magical powers. Trevor and Stasi, however, fall almost instantly in love. When things continue to go bad for Stasi, she and Trevor begin to suspect that their problems originate from more then a lawsuit.

I actually think this book is better then the second one. In has a consistant plot, everything comes together, and the issues are fully resolved in the end. I found Stasi to be an appealing and slightly more believable character then Jazz--she's mature, dignified, and kind. Trevor is a good match for her--honest, loyal, and of course very sexy. The romance in this book is better, though there was not as much as I may have liked. I also thought the magical elements improved to seem just a tad less rediculous while still keeping the fun of the previous two books.

I would still like to see more fleshed out characters. Particularly, I wish this author paid more attention to the origins and motivations of her villains. They always seem to come out of no-where to destroy lives. Also sometimes it's just too cute. Stasi hiccups bubbles, for example. Umm, k...

Overall, I would still recommend this series as whimsical, light paranormal romance.

Stasi Romanov is one of the witches banished into the mortal world by the Witches Academy 700 years ago. She and another witch, Blair, share a home and each have shops in a small mountain town. Staci is a sweet, respected member of the community and almost never loses her temper. She is stunned when she is served court papers stating she is being sued for alienation for affection from a dissatisfied customer.

Trevor Barnes is the wizard attorney who takes the case against Staci. The moment he meets her though, he is torn between his attraction to her or remaining neutral for his building case. The dancing hearts above her head doesn't help make his feelings or decisions any easier.

Then mysterious magic surrounds the lake that brings sanctuary to the witches. Curious incidents begin happening around their small mountain town and it's residents. Staci and Blair call in their friends to help figure out what is causing the disturbing events. They need Trevor's powerful help, but every witch knows you can't trust a wizard, and soon Stasi is fighting for her life and her heart.

Filled with charming characters, a clever plot, and loads of sizzling magic, Wicked by Any Other Name is pure fun! Jazz Tremaine, the heroine in Wisdom's last two books, along with her vampy fangboy Nick, and her famous Fluff & Puff slippers make a splash in Wicked by Any Other Name. The splash deftly ties this third novel into the first two, drawing the reader deeply into their witchy ways. I was absolutely entertained with this fun and magical romp! Linda Wisdom is quickly making herself a household name in the paranormal genre. I will definitely be looking for the next one!
