An excellent sequel to Not all Tarts are Apple. Life is looking up in the London cafe where Rosie lives with here beloved Aunt Maggie and Uncle Bert in 1954. Rationing is over, and Roger Bannister's four minute mile is the pride of England. But the Widow Ginger couldn't care less. An icy ex-GI fresh out of military prison, has come to settle up some unfinished business with Bert. Meanwhile, Luigi, the local Romeo, meets his romantic match. Rosie's best friend keels over on the playground, and someone in Soho is playing with matches. Rosie soon learns that where there is smoke there is fire, and it will take more than divine intervention to save the neighborhood-and Rosie's family-from Widow's vengeance.

I saw this book in a catalog I received and ordered it since it sounded so interesting. What a great story. And the other books by this author are just as good. It really gives you a good description of the neighborhood and times.
