Fourth in the Feste the Fool historical mystery series. This is a story told in flashback as Theophilus (as Feste is sometimes called) tells the story of Scarlet the Dwarf to his wife Claudia as they travel to a temporary Guildhall safehouse. Feste's story goes back in time a few years when he was in Tyre and Acre during the time Richard the Lionhearted was crusading and attempting to conquer Jerusalem. A fascinating tale with its roots based on historical fact, Gordon once again mesmerizes and entertains while spinning a good mystery yarn, too. This has become one of my very favorite series and I hope it continues for a long, long time!
