Very nice classic English mystery. Lots of suspects, with plenty of clues and red herrings for the reader. Written in 1949, there were a couple things in the beginning that the author just assumes you know. I had to guess what "the circuit" meant, and I'm still unsure about the Temple (I'm guessing a Masonic thing). I'm thinking that when this was written the clues meant more, because the solution turns on a bit of English law that has to be archaic by now. But being completely immersed in that time period was fun. Good characters, good pacing, good setting - I would not hesitate to read more of these.
