Good historical novel, book 2 of a trilogy. First volume covered time before and during WWI and the Russian Revolution. This one covers late 1930's to end of WWII. Follows the same families, but mainly the original characters' children, so there are more people/names to keep track of. Last part starts in early 1960's -- I wonder why he skipped the 30's/Great Depression and the Fifties.
