Why aren't people given the option to order more books from a person when their wish is granted?  Is it because some people use Auto-Request?

Not sure what you mean.

I've had a couple wishes granted in the past week, and for both, I was offered (by PBS) the chance to order more books.

I had two wishes granted in the past two days, and I wasn't offered that chance.  Weird.

Did the members just get the books in the mail  fast or was the Order More From Member button jsut not there?  Some people mail books immediately.  I know I have one enroute to me that I never knew was coming.  I had it on autorequest and it was posted, accepted and marked mailed within a short time frame.  Like they had waited by the computer for the 1hr buyers remorse to end.

I think that you only get that option BEFORE the sender has printed the label.  After they've printed, the option goes away.  I am not positive about this, but it would seem to make sense.  The only reason the option is there is so that the sender can save on shipping costs.

I find more opportunity to request additional books if Auto Request is Off. With it on, transactions will have usually gone past the point of being able to order more when I get a chance to check the status.

I think I've always been given the opportunity to order another book from the member granting my wish.  So far, I've never find a 2nd book on their list that I wanted.  This has surprised me.  I generally wait a day after accepting a request before printing the label in case someone wanted to rquest a 2nd book from me.  So far that has never happened.  (Well someone has ordered more than one from me but tht was part of a deal from the start.)

If auto-request is used then the requester probably does not have the opportunity to order more books from the sender, unless (as mentioned above) the requester sees the book show up in their Books I've Requested tab before the sender sees the title in the Books Requested from Me tab and accepts the request.

If you get a wish list offer and accept it, then it doesn't go through all of the same screens as a regular book request. It just adds it to your Books I've Requested tab and takes you back to your main account screen. But if you go to the Books I've Requested tab and scroll through the list to find the wish list book you just requested, then you should see the button to order more books from the member. I did this yesterday and ordered two additional books.

One thing I should mention though, which I verified with a tour guide regarding the order of additional books with a wish list offer: If the sender turns down all three requests and there are no more copies of available of the wish list book, then you go back on the wish list in your original spot for that title. If there are more copies of the additional books you requested from the member, then the requests will go to the next person in the FIFO line. In my case, I did not really want copies of the extra books unless I was getting the wish list book too. The other two books were ones I wanted to read eventually but would probably not have requested except to save the sender postage on a multi-book order.

The two guide sugested a way to resolve this: Immediately PM the member and explain that you only want the extra books if they are sending the wish list book. Ask them to PM you back if they cannot send the wish list book, so that you can cancel the requests for the extra titles. (The sender should not decline the request, because they would lose their place in the FIFO line.)  You can also add this info to an RC for the extra titles and order them separately from the member.

I get the 'order more from member' all the time, and all my WL books are on auto-request. That button just appears on the bottom of the "books I've requested" portion for that particular book. As someone else said, it's only once the label is printed that that button goes away. So if you had someone who accepted the request and immediately printed the label, then the button would not be there.
