I'm receieving offers for books I took off of my "automatic acceptance" in the American Girl series. The funny thing is,I don't get the request, I just get an email that they have been holding it and will not hold it any longer as the time is up!!!!  I didn't ask for it to be held....I just went and checked all my 'wish list' books and I see no reason why this should be happening and I hate it if a book is being held for me when someone else could be getting it :-( TIA

I'm not usderstanding what you are talking about. Is the book on your wishlist at all?  If it is on your wishlist, it will be held for you until you respond or until it times out.  It sounds like you are putting books on your wishlist that belong on your reminder list.

Did this happen today? If so, I think I'm having the same problem - only in reverse.

I post a lot of wishilsted books, and today being no exception, I posted two more. I knew they were wishlisted by over 100 people (one had a waiting list of 359 people) but no message EVER came up about them being wishlisted and waiting for member to accept.

No wishlist tab, no nothing except the exclamation mark when I looked at my bookshelf. I double checked the number of wishing for those ISBN # and I was correct so I just let it go to see what would happen ....

Finally, they both popped up with members acceptance and  and the auto notice wanting to know when I could mail the books. Obviously the first person they were offered to accepted  them very quickly but I wonder what would have happened if it went through a few PBS members or it took the first person the 2 days to accept? I wouldn't have known what was going on.

So, it seems like the "middle notices" between posting and accepting are missing. But today's the only day I've had that problem.

If books are on auto-request, then they don't show on your "wish list hold" tab. You can only see that on your bookshelf. That sounds like what happened to you, Susan.

Deborah -- you should check your Club Communications page under My Account and see if PBS ever sent you the first emails. Maybe they were sent, but something's wrong on your end and you just never got them.

That would explain why they were both accepted so quickly and there wasn't a 2-day wait time. Thanks - it's good to know!

Are those AG books readily available in the system?  If they are then they need to be on reminder list or it will keep offering them to you.  For the 2nd person-if you post a WL book and the 1st person in line has it on auto-request, it will automatically go into the 1hr buyer's remorse que instead of into WL hold. I've had this happen a couple of times for me.  Love that auto-request. So much better then waiting for 2 days for someone to finally hit yes or no.

If you only took it off autorequest (changed "autorequest - yes" to "autorequest - no"), then it is still on your wishlist. You need to delete it from your wishlist or convert it to your reminder list to get it off the wishlist altogether.
