This story was another okay read in the series, but I really felt the author could have done better. Dragons? Ninjas? Seriously? In addition to cameos by popular icons such as these, the story was just too predictable and hokey too often. It was like the author had no clue where to go with her series after creating a lot of build-up that just leaves you feeling empty. I was really disappointed that it wasn't a better read and perhaps it explains why it took a decade to wrap it up and offer a conclusion (coming out next year). I have a feeling I'll be waiting for the book via using a credit and not buying it when it does come out.

As the last of the currently published night world books it left a bit to be desired however i was very pleased to finally have a shifter as not just one but two of the main characters.
