As a gamer, this book was hard to read. As an adult, I found myself upset at some of the things written. There is a lot of vile phrases (without swearing) in this book towards role playing. Because my spouse was raised listening to that, I struggled with much of the middle of the book.

However, I loved the beginning and the end. In the end, the kids involved realize the importance of separating reality and fantasy and the power of words. I originally picked up this book for my 6 year old role playing child, thinking that a book about role playing would appeal to him. After reading the book, I still feel that it will be a good thing for him to read. More as a reminder to separate fantasy and reality and as exposure to other ways of thinking.

Interestingly enough, there is a lot of humor in this book.
