A fun and whimsical tale with quirky, interesting characters to root for. There were so many amusing and magical elements. I loved the little gingerbread man. Overall though, it dragged a bit here and there (for me) as our protagonist was caught up in running, hiding or preparing. Still, there was a lot to enjoy and I really liked the ending.

This was an adorable book with fun characters. It had some great action moments and the humor was spot on. It did drag a bit here and there so it took me a bit longer to read than normal. Also, I couldn't identify with the main character's age. The story kept telling me that she was 14 but she came across as an older teen. More like 17 or 18. It was hard for me to picture her because of this. Other than that it was a fun story.
