Okay, I'll admit it. The ending of the book left me crying multiple times. It did take a while to get to that ending, though. I felt a bit bogged down in the beginning and middle of the book. But the ending was worth it, even though some things happened that I really wish had not happened.

Another excellent adventure in this series.
Eigth in the series, and not a place for a new reader to start. The plot starts out running from the beginning and never really lets up, ratcheting up tension until almost the very end. Lots of imagery in this one, layers and layers of it, I did have trouble at times visualing what was happening. The alien wizards get some big roles to play here. I liked how we got to learn more about Roshaun, but I didn't really think Carmela's role was that believable. And Ponch, wow. I actually cried towards the end as not everyone is going to make it. Anyway a very good episode. I see that Duane's got more in the series, but it will be hard to put them in more danger than they were this time. Maybe she'll give them a bit of a breather.
