This book covers letters from the Revolutionary War to the wars in Iraq (the last couple are e-mails). The amount of history in these letters is just amazing, and with the volume of voices in this book the letters never get dull.
It is really hard to believe that women's history used to be considered merely "pots and pans history." This is a great introduction to American women's letters. The bibliography is beyond wonderful and will point in whatever direction you want to go.
