Of the more than 250 research projects reported in this publication, 18 percent were related to international economics; 10 percent to environment and natural resource management, and 9 percent to political economy, governance, public sector management, and public service delivery. Other important themes include public health, human capital development, infrastructure, poverty and inequality, agriculture and rural development, migration, and macroeconomics and growth. This volume also contains complete bibliographical references for research publications produced by the World Bank (staff and consultants) during this period including books published by our internal publication department and external publishers, scholarly articles published in peer-reviewed journals, working papers, policy research reports and so-called flagship reports. During the FY05 07 period, Bank staff and consultants produced 2,700 publications, including 160 books, 1,000 scholarly articles in peer-reviewed journals, and 960 Policy Research Working Papers.« less
