This book is the perfect example of why you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. Sure, it has really cool art on it that lures you in, but once you open it you're left with nothing but disappointment. I got a little over 50 pages before I just couldn't take it anymore. The author's writing has serious problems, as her descriptive ability is awful and the jokes made by characters just aren't funny. The lead character is TSTL and the use of first person narrative in this one just didn't work out well because Tammy Jo's (yes, that is really this witch's name) ability to translate what's going around her is pathetic. It just doesn't keep you interested and you're better off passing on this one for something else. I'm glad I only used a PBS credit to get it and didn't fork out $14 for this piece of junk.

This book is billed as a paranormal romance, but I wouldn't call it a romance at all, there's no happily ever after or any resolution at all in the relationship department, so if that's what you're looking for, it's not here. What is here is a light paranormal fantasy, not very dark or edgy, but very entertaining. Reminds me somewhat of the Sookie Stackhouse books, but with only one in the series so far, the world is less developed. There's some real potential here. I am looking forward to seeing where she takes this.

I liked the title and cover of this book, so I gave it a try. I really enjoyed it. It's funny, smart, sexy and drew me in immediately.

I think if you liked the "Undead" series by MaryJanice Davidson, you will like this book. I think one of my favorite things about this new series is that alot of characters have been introduced in this volume that I know would be fun to get to know better.

I really liked the relationship between the main character, Tammy Jo, and her two male interests. The surprising thing to me is that after completing the book, I still don't know which guy I want her to ultimately end up with.

Great new author. I can't wait for the second installment.

What attracted me to the book was the cover. Yes, there is magic, witches and warewolves but I can't say it's a bad start for a new author. The romance aspect needs a little improvement but I was ok with it being the way it was. Tammy Jo seems to have an itch for her ex husband still but is attracted to her forbidden friend Bryn. The sparkle between her and Bryn is hot but not sizzling. And the romance between her and her ex is not all that either. I did enjoy the witty humor and I'm glad it's a fresh paranormal adventure that does not include vampires. The book does not resolve her romantic issues but does make me want to read the next one. I want to know what happened to her mother and her aunt. I also want to know how Edie died and I do hope she leaves that raunchy ex husband alone. She needs to get with Bryn. It's a good and light read.

Tammy Jo Trask comes from a long line of witches, but the magic seems to have passed her over; or so she believes. She does wear a family heirloom, a locket, that she holds onto like her life depends on it. It doesn't, but Edie's does. The locket contains the spirit of Aunt Edie, who likes to dress in flapper dresses and says whatever is on her mind.

But at a local town bash, Tammy Jo's locked it stolen. She'll do anything to get it back, even ask for the help of local hunk Bryn Lyons. The Trask family has a list of ten things never to do, and on that list is not associate with the Lyons family. Tammy Jo doesn't know why, but right now all she can think about is getting that locket back. Lyon's is a gifted sorcerer, and helps Tammy Jo try to reach her inner witch and find the locket.

But unfortunately, a pack of werewolves comes to town, and they want Tammy Jo's blood. They accuse her of killing one of their pack members, and it will take everything Tammy has to clear her name, along with some help from her friends.

Would Be Witch is a fun, mysterious paranormal. Tammy Jo is unique with her southern speak and ways. I loved watching her thought processes and seeing her in action. I look forward to more books about her. The mystery slowly develops as the story proceeds until the last few pages where the perpetrator is revealed in a splash of magic. Great read!

Lighthearted book that is easy to read. Tammy Jo is a hot mess. Fired from her job, screwing up spells and trying to decide between her ex and the hunky wizard in town. Screwball escapades involving zombies, werewolves and gay vampires. 3.5 stars

I enjoyed this book from start to finish. Kimberly Frost has created a wonderful, fun supernatural world with surprises at every turn. Far from predictable, Tammy Jo leads up on an intriguing adventure that had me constantly saying "just one more chapter before I turn off the light." I love the relationship between Tammy Jo and her two suitors. While I do favor one over the other, they are both wonderful characters and I can't wait to see these relationships unfold.

A fun read. Lots going on with a party thief, finding a special locket that a ghost inhabits, and having two love interests.
