I'm wondering what is the norm or apprioate thing to say when you're writing an author. Like when they offer things from their sites when sending a SASE, do you include a letter, note, mention the series, etc?? :) |

If you want to, you can. They always seem to appreciate fans letting them know they loved their work. |

Hi Kelli! I write to authors sometimes and if I am requesting book marks or something like that (which many offer) I always include a short note, telling them that I appreciate their work and *very briefly* why I enjoy it. Every author I have written to (with the exception of Patricia Briggs) has written back, sent promotional items, and been really appreciative! ----Diane |

I've only had 1 author so far answer me. But I wrote Lara Adrian about a month ago & I included a note telling her that I loved her books & couldn't wait for the next one. |

I've only written to one or two authors and they have always written a nice short thank you note. I got a very sweet e-mail from C.L. Wilson after I wrote to her last summer, saying that she planned an upcoming book for a charcater I mentiioned was a favorite. |

I find that authors almost always write me back and are very sweet! |
