Am I wrong on this ?

There is a post in the multiple WL thread ,to which  I responded with a request of two books ( to be fair I asked , what amount I would need to order-they want multiple orders)

My respond ,  I have already exhausted my paypal balance & shipping quota  for the month.

My question is " Why is the list still up( has been with the same amount of books for a couple weeks now)    if you cant aford the postage now ?

Shouldnt you not post if you cant aford it now?

Is my thinking wrong ?

I appreciate any thoughts on this.   Thanks Lisa

Yes - she probably should have removed it.  Why didn't you just ask her to post them to you as soon as she got the money to mail??

Yeah, I would take it down if it were me but there's only what, a week and a half left in the month? She could have just said she would have to delay them a bit. With media mail you have that much variable in delivery time anyway.

I too wonder about people who list books then say they can't send them. Maybe I've just been very fortunate but even though I'm on a fixed income now and wasn't exactly Rockefeller before I've rarely not been able to come up with 2 or 3 bucks if I had to. Or not been aware that I was broke until someone asked me for something that was going to cost me a couple bucks. Put your shelf on hold and don't advertise books if you don't have any money at the moment, seems that would be less hassle for both parties.

I copied her pm ,

I'm sorry, but I will have to get back to you on that later. I reached my shipping quota for the time being.

I do not mail single books out to save on S&H. If I were, I would via FIFO to be fair. I prefer around 4 books, and definitely appreciate shipments around 10+. I know this is rare and have shipped double books before. It's just not the right time after fulfilling several orders already and exhausting my paypal balance.

My theory is that you need to post the guidelines on your post. It saves you time, and the members asking for books time.

In addition, it is really easy to add an edit saying no more for this month. Or crossing out the whole post with the line out option, as that lets you update it without typing everything all over.

I always wonder if people who aren't willing to spend the postage to send out a single book order single books. I'll bet they do.

You know, the more I think about it the more I don't like it, they are using this site to make money if they are selling the credits. You can mail 2 books for well under $3.50, and 2 credits will get a minimum of $5 in the forum. So they're making $1.50 off of the transaction. Imagine how much they can make on larger orders. Quite the scam.

you were right to contact them. They could have easy put the list on vacation hold. I do one big mail  day on payday and the next week my list is on vacation hold due to money because I get paid once every two weeks.
