The cover of this book was much better than the story!

It had the earmarks to be a really impressive, good romance - a young (and unawakened) widow is forced into a marriage with one of King Henry VIII's trusted knights - but the heroine took far too long 'fessing up to her new husband about the *many* secrets she was concealing in her castle. After a while it became too ridiculous. How could he really ever trust her when she concealed SO much from him, I thought? It wasn't like, just one thing she was concealing; it was more like five or six! The storyline was somewhat too serious for a romance (Protestant v. Catholics in Henry VIII's England). There was no real character development to carry it along, and I just barely finished it. Even the ending was very blah; somewhat sudden, considering everything that was going on between the two religious parties. Not recommended.
