Here's what I posted for the review of Grift Sense, the first in the series.

I've found a new author to add to my series list. Swain has created a down to earth casino swindler investigator who is a "real" type of man. No phoniness here! Valentine calls them as he sees them, and usually he is the only one who sees how people are cheating the casinos. Add a gray haired neighbor lady who keeps him on his toes, a son that he doesn't get along with, and clever cons at the casinos and you're in for a delightful read!
