Quite a readable book. The author writes for the Economist, so he's definitely part of the establishment. He gives an excellent economic history of the 1991-2008 period, which he calls "The Age of Optomism", his discussion of the current situation after the 2008 meltdown is a bit murkier, since it all hasn't shaken down yet. He talks about the US being unable to take any foreign police actions, yet he wrote before Libya. He caught the very beginnings of the Euro Crisis, that has now blown up.
