A sweet love story between a man with a shady past and a woman with a secret. William Raleigh, Duke of Trent is believed to have killed his wife. He is now a recluse with only a few close friends. Vivian Rael-Lamont portrays herself as a florist of simple means. When a cad from the Dukes past is blackmailing Vivian a deal is stuck The Duke will give Vivian what she needs and she will provide the Duke companionship. A man of means, the Duke investigates Vivian past and finds out she is not what he thought her to be.(I can't put in more detail...it is a surprise!) However, the more time spent together, the more they fall in love. There are great obstacles in the way of their happiness
This is the first book Ive read that really dealt with divorce in the upper crust during the 19th century. Very interesting :)

Another Maggie Shanye hit! Once you pick up a "Twilight" series book...you will be addicted. When you pick it up...don't plan to put it down until you are done. Serafina and William's love story...these character are very important in the intricate storyline throughout the series!

A lovely typical romace story of the time...beautiful girl to be married to horrible man to restore family honor/finaces...a strong and passionate hero...all the reasons we love a romance.
I actually listened to this on audiobook...enjoyable story.

I enjoyed "Firelight". It is a mixture of several classic tales... "Beauty & the Beast", "Phantom of the Opera", "Dr. Jekyl & Mr. Hyde"...I'm sure I could add a few more to the list. I really liked that the book was not an "in your face" paranormal story. I LOVE the paranormal genre, but typically the reader knows immediately that the characters are some verbalized creature of the night. In Firelight there are tidbits of Miranda's Pyrokinesis (which is obvious from the cover)... but there is a big secret to what happened to Archer. It isn't until the end of the book that the reader finds out what Archer hides behind his mask. I liked Miranda's determination to find out Archer's secret and the glimpses of vunerability in Archer's refusal to reveal himself. Plus, I can't resist a book where the woman rescues the whether it be literally or emotionally. I look forward to the next book... which is McKinnon's story!

If you have ever dreamed of a knight of the olden days to walk into your modern life... this story is for you! A wonderful story that takes place at a Renaissance Fair:) Modern day twists with colorful language, knights, wenches and jousting. A whole cast of interesting characters... old fashion values vs. the modern woman...a good read.

I am not much on "who-done-its" but this story was engaging...strong characters and lots of supporting characters which gave lots of options as to who the villian could be. The reader is introduced to character that will eventually either have their own story or who will be important players in another story. The romantic plot...the man against marriage vs the woman who demands marriage, stability and children. An enjoyable listen!

A quick fun read about the 3 son of Satan. Interesting that each son was not really evil... just bad habits or tendencies. A 3-in-1 read... that brought a smile to my face during the "trials" to prove able to run Hell.

Though the title leads you to believe there is a strong holiday theme in these paranormal stories... it is really just briefly touched. I saved the book to read this Christmas season...but I could have read it when I bought it. Big name authors...and stories with ghosts, vampires, "superheroes" and shape-shifters. A quick read :)

This was a cute twist to a modern story. It is a contemporary tale with a throwback to historical romances. A "dotty" grandmother thinks she is in another time...a loving granddaughter tries to play along until her grandmother can snap out of it. Through in a roguish hero... and a famous athlete turn coachman... it is a cute, quick read!

"Night Ecstasy" by Rebecca York...
The heroine, an artist who has gone stale in her painting...searches for excitement in the French Quarter of New Orleans... the "city of sin" brings her inspiration in our hero, Jules... a 300-yr old vampire... a good read filled with erotic images.
"Velvet Night" by Rosemary Laurey...
The heroine, a cop needing down time...returns to her childhood summer escape and meets up with a delicious newly-turned vampire... add in childhood bullies and a search for Meth... an enjoyable contemporary read.
"Midnight Court" by Linda Thomas-Sundstom...
The hero a rakish vampire who wants to save the damsel in distress... The heroine...isn't who you think it is... a vision of innocence~ "the angel" and the jealous mistress... got to read it to figure it out! A good paranormal historical story.

Second of the "key" series...was skeptical but LOVED this and the 2 other books in the series. Strong, intelligent women...strong, supportive men...and wonderful, interlocking friendships! Lots of mystery and beautifully written "thinking process" for the characters! This is Dana & Jordan's story.
Three friends and their men (who are also 3 friends) help solve a mystery that hasn't been solved in centuries...sleeping goddess who need to be awakened...immortals from another realm to assist the seekers of the keys...in finding the key...they find not only their loves but themselves!

Very good start to an interesting trilogy...good character interaction and multi-faceted heroines/heroes...first book not only pulls you into the relationship of the main couple but sets up your desire to know more about the other 4 characters and the obvious relationships that will follow. Audio book a joy to listen to...can't change discs fast enough!!!
