I loved this book. It shows the faces of society in Regency England. You know who the characters are, but they don't. The chase is what the story is about. The chemistry is marvelous, you know they are made for each other and you are rooting for them all the way through.

the story made me understand more of the political aspects of the crusades and the behind the back deals. I enjoyed it very much because I like ancient history.

I am always looking for new authors in this genre, and someone gave my a copy of John Ramsey Miller's 'The First Family'. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered all the other 6 fiction books he has written. Unfortunately, he has not written anything after 2008- why? -and it only took me 5 days of marathon reading. I wish there were more. I love his characters, and there is no big plan beforehand, the action just starts with his Winter Massey series on the job. He doesn't mind killing off some main characters along the way, and you are thinking, 'Oh,no, not them', but they are gone, to be fondly remembered. Surprising twists keeps you guessing until the end. His stand alone's are the same way. Very entertaining books and that's the idea.

This is a great thriller. I love her writing skills and characters. She really knows how to put you in New Orleans in real time with life-like people, with twists and turns, doubts, and upside down ending. A good police detective looking for her husband's killer from two years ago. From cut-off hands to exotic dancers, keeps you reading until the end. Great book, great author.

I borrowed the ebook from the library. I really enjoyed this book. A first read of this author. It was very detailed in taking you through the careful steps of bringing a kidnapped victim back into society and family after eleven years, especially when her brother is running for governor. I will look for more of her books.
