Dandelion Wine is one of my favorite books, but Farewell Summer is not. One is well written about boys, the other could have easily been written by a boy.

Did not enjoy it, but probably mostly my fault. I read it with the expectations to be similar to other Grisham novels. Based on a true story and more of a documentary. Lacked the page turning suspense.

I've neveer thought of Dean Kootnz's novels as literary masterpieces, but they were nice little 'sitcoms' for me. Easy to read with action to keep you engaged, but this is one book I didn't finish. Lost interest about 100 pages in and couldn't continue. Very rare for me. There are many others out there that will enjoy this book.

Really enjoyed Devil in the White City, but this one was more difficult to keep reading. Dry and technical.
