This is one of the worst books I've read in a long time. Firstly, I do not like Brockman's style of writing at all - always tongue-in-cheek and facetious. I couldn't decide if she was trying to be funny, but she's definitely not funny. Second, the "romance" part is ridiculous - for example, they are in a life or death situation and the man does not take the "opportunity" to kiss the woman. Really??? Is this the time to be romantic? And third, the book is so predictable. It is obvious from the get-go what is and isn't going to happen.

This is the first book of Brockman's that I've tried reading and will definitely be my last.

While this book was a page-turner and an easy read, I found almost all of it to be unbelievable - including the antagonist, Domenic Cavello. A mafia boss has a wife and children, Mr. Cavello does not. And since I don't want to give away anything that happens in the book, I will just say that he would NEVER divulge his whereabouts...

But still an enjoyable read!
