Cool ! It kept my attention and I finished it and am listing it here in hopes that someone else will enjoy it as much as I did.

I read this book many years ago.
Really great, interesting book.
I enjoyed it so very much; it kept my interest throughout.
I LOVED it!
It has absolutely NOTHING similar with the movie of the same name from 2003 with Steve Martin. No similarity whatsoever.
A must read!

Well, I am just starting this "book."
It looks really cool.
I went to Coney Island with my family when I was
about eight. That would have been 1959 or thereabouts.

This book is SO cool. I saw it some time ago in a book store in Iowa in the 1990s. I wanted it, but couldn't buy it at the time. Last year (or the year before) I found it here at PaperBack Swap. I'm so happy I now own it! Fantastic images with great and interesting text to go along with them! Maybe it's not true, but it's still fun!
Don't forget to check out "Why Cats Paint: A theory of feline aesthetics" (ISBN-13: 9780898156126 - ISBN-10: 0898156122) as well!

From Publishers Weekly
Charlie Moon and his best friend, Scott Parris, the chief of police of upscale Granite City, Colo., face a doozy of a case even by their standards in Doss's folksy 15th mystery featuring the Ute tribal investigator (after 2009's The Widow's Revenge): solving the murder of megabucks investor Samuel Reed before it occurs. Though the two lawmen initially scoff at the prospective victim's proffered wager that he won't survive his young wife's upcoming birthday, they have second thoughts after Mrs. Reed's 911 report of a phantom break-in as well as more serious concerns once Moon's self-appointed deputies--his reprobate Aunt Daisy, an elderly shaman with supernatural sources, and teenage orphan Sarah Frank--tail the lady in question to a rendezvous with her lover. Even so, ensuing events blindside Moon and Parris, setting in motion a denouement surprising enough to make it worth tolerating the author's myriad digressions and annoying stylistic quirks. (Nov.) I think it would be a good idea to stop comparing James D. Doss with Tony Hillerman.
I believe that James Doss has made quite a name for himself on his own without being compared to any other authors.
This was a very intricate and engrossing book, as are all of his books.
This isn't one of my favorites though, I believe because it involves politics. If you have only read this one and didn't like it you should definitely give this author another try.
He's a very good writer and deserves lots of attention.

I really liked it. It started out kind of slow and depressing but I kept on going and I'm happy that I did. I'd recommend that anyone who starts this really get aways into it before giving up. In fact I say, don't give up!

I give this 5 stars.
The book kept me interested throughout; it was fun going back in time. Howard Carter is a really good writer. Maybe a lot of people are burned out on reading about King Tut. Thank goodness I am not. I think everyone should read this because, it's very interesting reading about the discovery of the Pharaoh Tut-Ankh-Amen's tomb and how Howard Carter dealt with all the items discovered.
I liked it a lot!
It's a keeper, because I plan on reading it again!
