Mark is on the trail of a serial killer. A dead body is found in a mermaid's costume. She had a memory card inside her with a newspaper article from 40 years ago; the first murder that Mark worked on. But did he find the right killer? Much of this book takes place in 1962, hence the title, The Past Tense.

This was a little different than other cozy mysteries. It got a little confusing trying to figure out who killed who.

The description they have listed for this book is actually for another Heartsong Presents Mystery (I'm pretty sure it's Pedigreed Bloodlines by Sandra Robbins).

Where the Truth Lies features a character named Casey who investigates her aunt's death which is thought to be a suicide. There are a lot of puzzles to solve in this one and it is complex; about five people are arrested/questioned by police at the end of the story. Everything is not as it seems, though, as you'll see at the end of the book.
