The Modern Survival Manual: Surviving the Economic Collapse
Review Date: 12/20/2011
Helpful Score: 1

Good, useful information for a middle class person/family. Of course have to consider specific differences between Argentina and USA, but mostly very applicable. About 2001 but the problems that led to collapse happened here (USA) 2008 and are still happening, so it is still relevant. I started reading a library copy then bought my own from Amazon because I thought it was important enough to spend my limited money. Many people in parts of USA will say "been there, done that" but many people haven't yet (in my personal opinion).

The tips were mostly new to me, and they do help a little bit. I read this book at my public library to save money. Many of the tips were detailed, and some recipes were included. Some of the tips could have been more detailed, but nobody's perfect. Overall, a good useful read. It was worth my time.

Nice book for cooking; the solar part could have used more detail. Most of the book consists of recipes; two designs for solar cookers are described in the beginning. Step by step drawings are shown, but detailed diagrams would have been better. There's enough information here to do the job. It is worth reading.
