Very interesting read of history "in the making." A bit depressing as some of the letters are from soldiers who died a few weeks or months after writing their particular letter. Did enjoy the fact that the same soldier had several letters posted in the different parts of the book to see his state of mind change from the beginning to the end. Layout was chronological to the war which made the most sense out of the psychological aspects of the letters.

A wonderful resource for people wanting to learn about the "real" experience in Vietnam.

Good overview of the war. Great description of life in the POW camps. A lot of men find it difficult to share these experiences so memoirs are always a valuable resource.
