America: A Narrative History, Brief Seventh Edition, Volume 1
Review Date: 7/21/2015

A good overview of the American history landscape. Still a bit subjective to my taste with few if any attributions to original research and rather broad statements that sound more like opinion than comprehensive research. America's struggle with native cultures and racial relations tend to be oversimplified.

But still, a worthwhile survey of US history.

Unleashing the Church: Getting People Out of the Fortress and into Ministry
Review Date: 10/12/2007

This is an interesting read from the point of view of church history. Dating to the late 1970's Tilapaugh's findings are rather basic to most modern (and I guess post-modern) church observers. The church should be less wrapped up in itself and it's middle-class orientation. Fair enough. Nonetheless, his ideas and examples of how his congregation acted on his findings are interesting and relevant (if somewhat dated).
