I found this book unbelieveable. I just don't believe in pet psychics.
Book is a quick read though.

One of those books you will find hard to put down.

Didn't like how this book constantly jumped around, wasn't very suspenseful. One could practically guess the outcome. Seemed to take forever to get through.
Seemed like a very built up book that wasn't as good as it was made out to be.

Enjoyed reading from the cats point of view. Very humorous at times, sad in a few, but totally enjoyable.

I have always enjoyed Paulsen's books, but I just couldn't get into this one. So I read only about half of this book and just couldn't go no futher. Maybe if you are really into hunting and fishing you would enjoy this one.

Got to have a sense of humor and understand cats for this one. When I first looked at it I wasn't much impressed wondering why a cat would want to commit suicide, but when you read why this book was created (in the first chapter) it makes it more funny and enjoyable. Funny illustrations.

Not one of his best. It felt like this was just a few chapters left out of one of the Beast House series of books.

Very good companion book to The Giver. Both books are listed for teens but I do believe they are a great read for anyone. Hard to put down.

Author spent a lot of time describing the area and history of the area this book took place, which I found kind of slow and drawn out in those parts of the book. Other than it was and ok read.

Even though this book was directed toward a younger crowd, I believe anyone who loves horses would enjoy this book.
From inside the dustcover:
"They called her Hummer because she did. All the time. Well at least whenever she was thinking of horses, which is pretty close to saying all the time."
The morning Hummer wakes to find a beautiful, black Arabian mare outside, she's sure it's meant for her. Summoned by the bower of her desires and her dreams, this horse will fix all that's wrong in Hummer's life.
When Old Man Riley shows up to take his runaway horse home, Hummer's fantasy is shattered. But there is something about this pale, skinny girl - a toughness and determination - that impresses and touches Riley. He also senses something askew in Hummer's home. He's known her parents, Leona and Virgil, for a long time, but things don't seem quite what they ought to be. He decides to leave Fox with Hummer after all, sort of a loan.
In the days that follow, the time that Hummer spends with Riley and Fox works a different kind of magic in the young girl's life, until the day that Hummer's world and home almost fall apart.
Linda Gruenberg's first novel is a powerful witness to the potentially healing influence people have on each other's lives.

I just cannot get into this book. I have read the intro. and 3 chapters and found it jumping from incidents to history about the emt drivers themselves. I don't like books that keep jumping back and forth like that. Maybe it gets better if you continue reading, but after 3 chapters that was enough for me.
Maybe someone will like it better.
