Putting this book on my bookshelf is making me rather uncomfortable. It is such a good read, such engaging characters, such moving philosophies -- that I feel that I am betraying a dear old friend. I almost hope no one wants it.

This is a moving story. I didn't see the recent movie but I can't imagine that they could do this one justice. It is so full of inner thoughts and feelings, something the movies aren't too good at conveying. I highly recommend this one.

Another insightful and honest read from McDermott. She tells Theresa's story with sensitivity, but tells it nonetheless. Each page brings us face to face with our sweetest memories and our darkest moments.

If you liked DaVinci Code, you'll like this one. It's full of mystery and puzzle and travel -- and a few vampires for good measure. Very good.

A very readable work on a somewhat unapproachable subject. Murray presents her own observations along with historical and practical information about a variety of burial practices around the world.

If you like Dickens, you'll like Palliser. Twists and turns, and mysteries galore.
