I didn't realize that it was a "young adults" book when I got it, but I enjoyed it very much anyway. It was sort of a contemporary mystery set in Florida with the old & new Florida Gulf Coast mingling. The main character, a young teenage boy, goes with his father to help with his grandmother's funeral. He had never met her, but comes to learn a lot about her. You couldn't always tell what was real & what wasn't, but it was so entertaining you didn't worry about it. The characters were very colorful, to say the least, & he learned about himself, his father & made new friends in the process of gaining maturity. A fun read- or in my case- listen to.

The story was cute- done almost completely in letters, notes, & e-mails between the characters. It was a different touch & the settings in Ireland & Boston were fresh too. I
got a bit frustrated with the characters sometimes, but I guess that's just a part of the dramatic tension. Overall enjoyable.
