Pleasant Valley Elementary is a PreK through 5th grade elementary school that serves students in the Harrisonburg, Virginia area. We are a Title I school serving a multicultural (our families hail from 24 different nations) population that ranges between 58-64% free/reduced lunch, as such, many of our students have limited access to books in their homes. Our goal is to expand our students’ learning and interests.

We recently underwent a school renovation including expanded library space.
As part of this, we have additional shelving for books. Further, our library collection, much of which dated back to 1963 underwent a much-needed purging of outdated materials and books.  A donation from Paperback swap would allow us to begin to rebuild our collection!

Our focus this year is promoting independent reading and moving our students towards becoming life-long readers.  Your members’ generous donations will give our students reading material for their very own.  Many of them do not frequent bookstores or have funds for our book fair, but you can help them feel the joy of book ownership.

Thank you for helping us partner to make reading a priority.
