We hit our Book Credits goal!
We hit our PBS Money goal!
Indian Village is a Title I school in a very low-income neighborhood. 83% of our student body are at the higest poverty level. Most of our students only have access to books when they are at school.
The donated books will be given to the students to take home so they can learn to be life long readers. In order to build life long readers, they have to have access to books, and unfortunately our school budget doesn't allow us to give them that opportunity.
For the past 2 years, Paperbackswap has donated books to our students and it has been a tremendous help. The kids are incredibly thankful to receive these books! One student asked me specifically who these books were from, and I told her they came from very nice people who had really big hearts. We, as a building, are also trying to teach our students how to think of others and this is a great example to show them!
Thank you for selecting Indian Village again, we are absolutely thrilled to be so lucky!
