To change your password from within your account:
Go to your Account Settings:
You will be sent an email from PBS confirming that your password has been changed; the password will not be in the email.
To reset your password from outside your account (ie, if you have lost your password):
- Go to the Login page by clicking the Login link at the top right of any page
- Click the "Lost Your Password?" link on the login box
- Provide the answer to your "secret question"
- A temporary password will be emailed to you in an email titled "Your Paperbackswap login information..."
- Give this email 10 minutes to arrive. If the email has not come after 10 minutes, see below.
- Use the information in the email to log in and this will take you to the Change Password page
- On that page enter the TEMPORARY password into the top space and enter whatever you are choosing for a new permanent password below that
- Click Update and this will set the change
- From then on the new permanent password you chose will be the only valid password for your account.
If you don't get the "login information" email ...
- Give it a few minutes. Don't reset your password over and over - this results in multiple temporary passwords (only the most current of which will be valid) and can get confusing
- Check your spam folder
- If you wait 10 minutes and the email has not come, your email provider may be blocking the email, thinking it is spam.
- You should add "Librarian@paperbackswap.com" and "noreply@paperbackswap.com" to your email account address book, to tell your email provider that you want to receive our emails, and then
- reset your password one more time and wait 10 minutes
- If the login information email still is not in your inbox, contact us using the feedback link on the Contact Us page.
