Help Center - I posted a Wish Listed book I can't send!

Search Terms:

If you Post a Wish Listed book you cannot send (you Posted it incorrectly or by mistake, or the book is damaged or unpostable, or you simply change your mind and want to keep it), the book will be involved in a pending offer immediately, and you will not be able to delete it from the system or cancel the offer until the Wishing member requests the book. Simply wait for the first request and decline it, as described below.

To remove the book from the system:

  • Wait for the book to be requested.
  • Click  on the request
    • If the book request has Requestor Conditions, choose the button that says "I Cannot mail for Other Reasons"
  • Type in your reason (examples: "oops posted by accident" or "sorry, I noticed water damage on the book" or "oops - I used the wrong listing, My copy is a hardcover not a paperback" or "So sorry  -- my daughter changed her mind and wants to keep this")
  • Confirm the cancellation

Once you have done this, the book will be removed from the system.

Note: if the request has Requestor Conditions on it, you need to click "I CANNOT MAIL FOR OTHER REASONS" on the request. (Do NOT use the "Does Not Meet Requestor's Conditions" button to decline , as that option will keep your book active in the system.)

Also Note: if you have posted a lot of books at once that you cannot mail, you can put your account on Vacation Hold.

  • then, if a wisher declines or does not accept the offer of the book, that book will go back onto your Bookshelf (instead of being passed to the next wishing member in the queue) and you can delete it from there.  After deleting all books you can't send, you can remove the Vacation Hold from your account.
  • In this situation (a LOT of requests you can't fulfill), you can also contact the Team using the "send us feedback" button on the Contact Us page -- we'll help you!
