I am enjoying these books about CIA agent John Wells as they are providing much of the "back story" in what is going on in the world today, especially the Mideast.

A few weeks ago, I started with the first of the series, A Faithful Spy, and have read book 2, Ghost Wars, and now this one, the third in the series. They are really page-turners. I have put other books aside to read these in order.

I liked the fact that one of the characters involved in the attempt to make a nuclear bomb with material stolen from the Russians had second thoughts about it. The author brings to life the beliefs, fears and doubts of our enemies in this conflict. It reminds us that it is not as cut and dried as we might believe.

If you like Gabriel Allon in the Daniel Silva series, you will like these books. I can't wait to read book four, The Midnight House.
