This is a highly readable and enjoyable memoir by the wife of
journalist/muckraker Lincoln Steffens. It covers most of her
years with Steffens, the birth of their son Pete, Steffens' death
and the life of Ella and Pete afterwords. She married Donald Ogden
Stewart, and moved to England. The title is from a poem by
Tennyson, "to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield." That is
what this book does.
