It is not generally known in the West, but during the tumultuous period of civil wars that swept back and forth mideaval Japan, women were expected to help directly defend home and family- and were trained in Kendo and other martial arts. Many became very deadly indeed, and well known in folklore. If you like feminine women who can lop off enemy limbs in the blink of an eye, this is is a must for you. I'm looking forward to mthe rest of the series.
