I've been a Jennifer Weiner fan for quite awhile. I could hardly put down her other work: "Good in Bed," but I felt a little differently towards "Little Earthquakes."

I liked the book for sure. An insightful and heartwarming tale of friendship and motherhood, "Little Earthquakes" is a must for Weiner fans and new or soon-to-be moms alike.

My reson for the three star rating is simply how long it took me to become engaged with the characters. I was halfway through the book before I actually started to care about the women and their children. I really can't put a label on this except that it just took me that long to become engaged in the story.

I considered putting it down for awhile, but being the stubborn book-reader that I am, I plowed on and was glad I did. I can't explain what the turning point for me in the story was. The fact is, I don't really know. All of a sudden however, I was no longer bored and wanted to get through to the end of the book.

I did feel a little robbed at the end though. For me the book ended very abruptly and it was kind of a letdown after I'd worked so hard to invest my emotions in the characters. It was almost like Weiner ran out of time/ideas and simply stopped writing. It was kind of annoying actually.

So, I'll definitely pick up another Jen Weiner book. Will I be doing it tomorrow? Nah. I'll still be recovering from my letdown.
