This book is good for a beginning quilter as it gives basic instruction and full size patterns. It is not too big and so does not overwhelm the new quilter. The blocks are 8 1/2 inches square which become 10 1/2 inches if you chose to ad a border. I made my first full size quilt from just such a book and found it a pleasant experience. Enjoy!
