This is a longtime favorite of mine - if you like the loner/protector type of hero, you're in for a treat: Rock O'Connor is to die for. Like the other two books in the Kendall series (Jake's Way, Some Men's Dreams), the mood of this book is heartfelt and bittersweet - Korbel's stories remind me of Mary Balogh's books in this respect (e.g., A Summer to Remember) - they are about people finding a way to overcome some very painful emotional wounds. I particularly recommend Some Men's Dreams as well as this one.
